About Stellman and Greene
About Andrew Stellman and Jennifer Greene
Andrew Stellman has been building software professionally for over ten
years. He started working as a programmer after graduating from the
School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. He has led
teams of programmers and managed numerous projects. Andrew founded the
Software Engineering Process Group and led the process improvement
initiative at a major financial software company, where he also founded
and managed a team of business analysts and requirements analysts.
Andrew has remained active in the academic world, returning to Carnegie
Mellon as a guest lecturer on project management and process
improvement at the School of Computer Science and the Tepper School of Business. In his free time, Andrew
plays bass guitar, and studies aikido and taiji.
Jennifer Greene began her software engineering career in the early
1990s. She started out as a software tester at a well-known online
service. She has since built and led software engineering teams in
organizations spanning finance, non-profit, natural language processing
and media. She has created and staffed project management positions,
built QA teams and led major outsourcing efforts. Jennifer has created
unique solutions for software testing automation and data-driven
testing. Jennifer has a whippet named Quentin.
Andrew and Jennifer started working together in 1998. They initially
defined the software process at the company where they were working,
and have since run many successful projects together. They founded Stellman and Greene Consulting
in 2003, initially to serve the scientific and academic community.
They have built software for the Mailman
School of Public Health, the Business School at Columbia University and
the National Academy of Sciences (under subcontract through the Mailman
School).
They have since branched out into commercial project management and
software engineering consulting, providing training, project
management, outsourced project management and professional services to
both the business and academic communities.
